In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, many evacuees take shelter in Reed Arena on Texas A&M’s west campus. Faculty and students in the college organize a group of students to tutor students sheltering on campus after a request from General Van Alstyne, head of Texas A&M Relief Efforts. 91 students respond in the first 12 hours alone.
